About this house

Acquired as part of a former JD Wetherspoon portfolio in 2004/05, this pub originally traded as The Last Post. Following acquisition, we refurbished and relaunched the venue as The Misty Moon, before undertaking a major redevelopment in 2016 and rebranding the site as The Generals Arms. The name reflects both the building's historic connection to Chesham's former General Post Office and the nickname of local football club, Chesham United F.C. — "The Generals". Located in the heart of Chesham High Street, The Generals Arms is a traditional community pub serving food daily, with a cosy rear garden, live sport shown throughout via Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and regular live entertainment and late-night events. The venue is licensed until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
